Just yesterday, I retweeted out an article by Mashable, talking about the new Facebook Window Decals. Much to our surprise, today, we were one of the lucky Business on Facebook that also received their window decal. Facebook has sent these out to a select base of companies in hopes of them being the spokespeople for Facebook’s leap into the local business marketing niche.
Facebook is obviously a powerful medium for business’ to showcase their company, and help drive more customers to their site, banking on the idea that “businesses that promote their Page off-Facebook tend to see a 20% or greater increase in connections.”
This step into amping up their Business Searches within Facebook seems to be a smart maneuver on their part, as they now have Foursquare and Google’s “Favorite Places” decals used on their maps.
Facebook’s mission is to help people share and make the world more open and connected. And by no bring the offline place of business and connecting it to its online counterpart, they are helping all business’ succeed in a powerful way.
