Videos have always been a great way to capture peoples’ attention and if a user video is done properly (i.e. a proper intro, tagline and call to action) it can be great as a traffic builder for your site. I recently came across a bit of information that seems like it would be quite useful to all of those out there that are working hard to maximize their search results with the help of Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Google, can transcribe your videos with speech recognition, making the spoken word found in Google Search results

If you go back through some of our blog posts you will notice we have often times used videos to help get our point across. We do this for a couple reasons:

  1. It’s fun to make the videos
  2. It grabs people’s attention
  3. Proper Intro and Outro/Call to Action can help drive a lot of traffic
  4. As my favorite comedian always says “Why Read when you Can Watch it” (See video below)

What this technology means for us is, is that a video done right can really enhance what you are trying to sell. If a video is done properly the video can show up in the search results just as a webpage would. And if you edit the video properly, you can really capture your viewers attention and get them interested in learning more from your site.
