What do bad beats, pocket pairs and Twitter all have in common? If you guessed Poker, than you are correct.

The World Series of Poker has been held in Las Vegas every summer for the last 40 years. Recently, you have been able to follow a lot of the action online, as tournaments begin and end.  This year, on top of all the updates, they are allowing you to follow your favorite players on twitter, as they bust pocket aces, flop a flush or suck out on the river. When looking at the results and chip counts for each tournament, there is an icon next to a few of the names urging you to follow that player on Twitter (see what Gavin Smith is up to right now)

As we have mentioned on our site before, Twitter is a great Social Networking tool, as it allows you to follow friends, family or people you look up to, to see what they are doing on a daily basis. The World Series of Poker is trying to take advantage of this by creating more buzz around poker. Fans can log on to see how some of their favorite players are holding up in certain tournaments and even get updated reactions and comments from each player.  What makes this even better for the World Series of Poker is that the twitter feeds are posted on their site, rather than on a regular twitter feed, which means they can keep all their fans on site rather than having them leave to check out twitter. The World Series of poker is using a Social Media Bundle as it already had chat rooms, blogs and Videos… it now has Twitter.
