Our clients often ask us, “What types of clients/patients am I going to attract by leveraging social media marketing”. The answer to this question isn’t that simple, so let me explain myself here.
As of 2009, the demographics of people on the internet is vastly different than those on the internet circa 1996. The reasons are:
- Barrier to Entry (buying a computer that can connect to the internet now can cost as little as $300)
- Prevalence of the Internet as a Communications Tool
- Free/Cheap Public Internet Access
Now, I’m sure there are many more reasons, but these are my top ones.
A few of the things that I’ve learned when approaching the affluent population is having a product to market that they actually want! I work with many doctors that offer expensive elective procedures and they wonder why some of their consults don’t close…
Its simple, they were targeting the wrong market, with the wrong message, using the wrong medium!
The affluent tend to do more research when making a large purchase, and social media marketing is a great way to reach them. The wonderful part about Social Media Marketing is that if you approach it right, then it becomes really easy to establish yourself as the expert in your market.
If you are looking to learn more about Marketing to the Affluent than you should definitley check out my coach, Kelly O’Neil’s program. If you just want more info, she’s offering a free CD – “7 Surefire Marketing Strategies fo Market to Millionaires (TM) or at least people who spend like they are”. I would definitley reccomend at least checking her out…she can do wonders for your business/practice.
If you’re looking to attend her event, (I am attending by the way), in Los Angeles, October 22-24, then check out all the details on the “Marketing To Millionaires Retreat”. Right now she’s offering $750 off registration for early bird subscribers!
