Getting Hired by Social Media: The Video Resume

It is not breaking news that the economy is not at its strongest right now and there are many people being laid off or just getting out of college that are not able to find a job to suit their needs Luckily for a lot of these people there is an answer to their problem: Social Media

With the influx of social media in our society, there are many more options and ways of doing something to stand out. One such way is the video resume. With the unemployment rate pushing new records every day, companies are seeing a huge increase in the number of  resumes that come across their desks, the question is: what can you do to stand out?

Many people are now creating profile websites hiring managers can read up on the person and get a dose of their resume in online formatting. However, even this is not as catching as my favorite technique: The video resume. The video resume is a way to talk about yourself, put a face with a name and make something that the hiring manager will really remember.

A Hiring manager cannot help but remember a video like this, especially if everything else they received was only a piece of paper listing a person’s accomplishments and qualifications.

So remember this the next time you are going in for a job interview, if you really want to be remembered you have to do something to stand out. And if you have a lot of guts, maybe you can try something like this:
